Step 1 : Search for Google Trends in Google.

Step 2 : Click on the very 1st link that is Trends.google.(com).

Step 3 : Click on the three bars on the Top left corner.

Step 4 : Click on Explore

Step 5 : Select the Country, Select the Past 30 days, Select the category in which you are working, as you can see in the below image i have selected the Health category. After selecting the category, finally you have to select YouTube search.

Step 6 : After following the fifth step, you will get some sub-topics related to your category below. You can work on any of those sub-topics.

Apart from this, if you want to check the number of searches of any particular topic, then let me tell you what you have to do for that.

Lets take an example, if you want to check the number of searches for the keyword Laptop then you have to type that keyword (Laptop) in search bar, then select your country, select the time period (past 30 days), don’t select the category, let it be All categories and finally select the youtube search. Press enter, you will get the number of searches for keyword Laptop, as shown in below image.

Steps to Find Trending Topics on Youtube

Before working on any topic, you must check how many searches are there for that topic on YouTube. If there will not be many searches for that topic, then there is no use of working on that topic.

Go to youtube and type for the topic which your are looking for in the youtube search bar. Check the views gained by Top 4 videos in past 6 months. If that videos have more views in lakhs or millions then you can start working on that topic.

If you want to see the views gained by Top 4 videos in past 1 week, month or a year, then you can go to the Filters section by clicking on the 3 dots given on the top right corner in android and top left corner on desktop. Check below image.

After selecting the Filters select the upload date, then select the time period and then click on apply button, you will get your desired results for your searched topic. Check below image.

Along with the trending topics, you can also work on the evergreen topics. As long as the trend of any particular topic is going on, people search for those videos related to that topic and your youtube videos gets majority of views very quickly.

But after some time when peoples interest gets lifted from that topic, then the views on your videos gets reduced.

But this does not happen on evergreen topics because the views come late on evergreen topics, but once they start coming, they keep coming for a long time. The great examples of evergreen topics are Health videos, How to videos, Educational videos etc.
